Sal was born and raised in Naples, Italy, where he loved to eat gelato everyday — sometimes as many as 4 to 5 cups a day!
In hopes of honing his skills and moving to Canada, Salvatore chose to attend the world renowned Carpigiani Gelato University in Anzola dell'Emilia, near Bologna, Italy.
Sal then moved to Canada, where he started working at the original Bella Gelateria alongside maestro James Coleridge.
James and Salvatore competed and won the Grand Title of North America Champions in Austin, Texas. Together, they represented Canadians loud and proud on the international stage!
After years of perfecting his craft at Bella Gelateria, Salvatore makes the decision to found his very own gelateria. And Passione Gelato Artigianale was born.
Salvatore opened Passione to chase his dreams of owning a gelato shop and of expressing himself through the art that is gelato. Vancouver has helped Sal in achieving this dream — and for that he is forever grateful.
You can also find Sal currently spearheading the gelato program at Kitchen Table Group's Motorretta.
